Stepping closer, Moving further, changing the future together!

Urban developments have dominated our present world, where buildings have replaced trees and plants. Technology has brought comfort wherein one touch of a button has lessened the physical efforts to do chores. We had seen these changes happen before our eyes as time passed. The fast-paced life will not slow down any time, soon; and we will still see more changes as time passes. Progress has shown most of us a pleasant way of life, but the irony lies in the fact that we still look forward to spending our vacations in nature. We look forward to feeling the sand in our feet, we enjoy the physical challenge of walking on unpaved trails during a hike, and we choose to wake up earlier to reach the mountain’s summit to watch the sunrise above the sea of clouds. Nature has shown us valuable rewards despite its simplicity. The Bantay Biag project came about because of these realizations. This undertaking aims to rehabilitate the 5-hectare land in Mangatarem through reforestation.

The first Bantay Biag tree-planting activity took place last June 19, 2021. Mr. Rael Ferrer, Centrum Fuel, Rael Kitz Corporation’s president, and a key participant during the event. Narra, Palusapis, Atis, Sampalok, and Kasoy seedlings made up the 108 planted trees. The number also represents operational Centrum Fuel stations in the Philippines. Dr. Lady Ferrer- Resuana, who headed The Bantay Biag project, did not only come to plant trees but to give back to the community. To be successful with this initiative, Dr. Donalene Palaganas-Megino had provided the needed information and guidance. On the other hand, the Mangatarem Local Government Unit was also present to support a project that would benefit the community. Hon Mayor Ramil “Balong” Ventenilla and Vice Mayor Michael Mon Punzalan were in attendance to lend a hand not only to cover more ground but to fortify a partnership that holds a promising future for all their constituents.

It is a heart-warming sight to see what The Bantay Biag project has brought about. This first tree-planting activity has proven yet again that change is more effective if we start with or within ourselves. In this case, this initiative took shape in the hometown of Centrum Fuel. And just like how we serve the community through building one station at a time, we can reach future generations with one tree at a time. It also feels good to know that aspirations can come true at the right time and the right place. It was the late Mr. Renato Ferrer’s dream to have his grandchildren experience what nature can offer. Mangatarem will be a place where his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be able to savor nature’s propagation and, simultaneously, a place that will symbolize a flourishing family bond that will go on for generations.

There is still a lot to be done, but we are happy to share that we are stepping closer, moving further, and changing the future together.

Centrum Fuel (Rael Kitz Corporation) has launched the Adopt an Estero project on the 24th of November, 2018 in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The clean up drive headed by our top management staff Khristine Lady F. Resuena MD aims to preserve and improve the beauty of The Tanap River in Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, Pangasinan. 60 participants consisting of Centrum Fuel Staff and barangay officials were designated to clean along 5 different areas of the Tanap River.

Throwing garbage, dumping commercial and human waste and building informal settlements along estuaries pollute the water which can negatively affect aquatic ecosystems.

The Adopt an Estero Program is a collaborative undertaking between and among communities along esteros or creeks and rivers, concerned LGUs, the private sector and the DENR to achieve a cleaner, safer and healthier environment.

When it comes to saving lives, there is always something we can do to help. Take part in our Bloodletting event today and tomorrow from 8am to 5pm at Centrum Fuel, Talibaew, Calasiao, Pangasinan, in partnership with The Philippine Red Cross and PNP Calasiao headed by PLTCOL FERDINAND Z DE ASIS, A, COP.

Instilling values in the younger generations is best done through example and environment. Centrum Fuel is supportive of the youth and education, that is why in the recent brigada eskwela at the Tebeng Elementary School in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. We were able to lend a helping hand, share resources, such as paint, and accord time in this simple but meaningful activity.

We are hopeful that through activities like this, we may be able to contribute to communities. The recent restrictions of the pandemic have made it challenging to build and keep relationships but undertakings like this pave better roads for education. Happy Monday!

Our love for the environment has once again taken center-stage as members of Rael Kits Corporation led by our President, Mr. Rael Ferrer planted 105 coconut trees along the coast of Tondaligan Beach, Barangay Bonuan Gueset on Saturday, January 30, 2021 — gaining praise from Mayor Brian Lim through his chief of staff Atty. Mike Datario. PCol. Ferdinand de Asis, Calasiao Police Chief also joined our tree planting activity.

HONORING OUR CONNECTION TO THIS LAND - “As children, we used to play here. It was a big part of our childhood. We want our children and the next generations to love this place as much as we do.” Dr. Lady Ferrer Resuana shared. The area of Tondaligan Beach played an important role in the lives of the Ferrer children. Years before their father Mr. Renato Ferrer joined our creator in 2020, the family often had breakfast and afternoon walks around the place.

This project belongs to a growing number of projects dedicated to restoring the natural environment in Barangay Bonuan Gueset and neighboring areas. Whether it is through the Adopt an Estero project, feeding programs, scholarships, cleanup drives, natural disaster relief efforts and tree planting ventures, Rael Kitz Corporation continues to be an unstoppable force in creating positive change! In Dr. Resuena’s words, “In everything we do, we take something from the environment. We don’t want to be greedy and keep taking what the environment gives us. So when our business grew, it was the perfect time to give back”.
